Recover Fully and Return to Your Sport With Confidence
Getting out of pain is only part of recovery. The real goal is returning to your sport and trusting that your body can handle its demands.
At Cadence Physiotherapy & Rehab near Cambie and Broadway, we provide sports physiotherapy for recreational and competitive athletes. We help you recover from injury, rebuild your physical capacity, and return to training with a clear plan.
Who Is Sports Physiotherapy For?
Sports physiotherapy may be right for you if:
- Pain is limiting your training or performance
- An injury returns when your activity increases
- You are recovering after surgery
- You do not feel confident returning to your sport
- You want to prepare for a race, season, or new goal
- You want to reduce the chance of another setback
Rehabilitation Built Around Your Injury
Every sports injury has different recovery needs. We consider the type of injury, its stage of healing, your current abilities, and what your sport will eventually require from you.
Your rehabilitation progresses from reducing symptoms and restoring comfortable movement to progressive strengthening, loading, and sport related training. Certain injuries also have expected healing timelines and specific milestones that need to be reached before moving forward.
Pain relief is an important sign of progress, but it is not the finish line. We want the injured area to regain the strength, control, and capacity needed to handle your sport with confidence.
Understanding Why the Injury Happened
Once we understand the injury, we also look for factors that may have made the area more susceptible in the first place.
Sometimes another part of the body is not contributing as well as it should, causing the injured area to take on more load. Previous injuries, changes in training, strength gaps, and movement patterns may also play a role.
We assess the areas that are relevant to your injury and your sport. This is not about finding problems everywhere. It is about making sure we do not miss something that could slow your recovery or contribute to the injury returning.
Our Sports Physiotherapy Approach
Your first visit is a full 60 minute, one to one assessment with a registered physiotherapist.
We discuss your injury, training history, and goals before assessing the injured area and the movements required by your sport. Your treatment plan may include:
- Manual therapy, dry needling, or cupping when appropriate
- Targeted exercises for the injured area
- Progressive strengthening and loading
- Sport related drills and movement retraining
- Guidance on modifying and rebuilding your training
We do not automatically ask you to stop your sport. When it is safe, we help you stay active while gradually preparing your body for full training and competition.
